5 Best Dessert Shops In Lviv, Ukraine (And What To Get At Each)

Lviv is arguably the most beautiful city in Ukraine. It is full of historical landmarks, charming cafes, themed restaurants, hidden bars, and cute boutique shops. Here is a list of 5 best dessert shops in Lviv that every sweet tooth would love. 

Grand Cafe Leopolis

Grand Cafe Leopolis is located in the Ratusha building (city hall) in the very center of Lviv old town. 

Grand Cafe Leopolis is truly a grand place. The tall ceilings, spacious rooms, and antique furnaces make you feel like you have a meal in a palace. 

Grand Cafe Leopolis is a great place for breakfasts (they serve amazing breakfast towers that include three dishes and a glass of champagne for a very affordable price), and other meals. 

Besides proper meals, Grand Cafe Leopolis offers a wide selection of fantastic desserts. This is one of my favorite dessert places in the city. I even got my birthday cake from Grand Cafe Leopolis. 

As soon as you enter the restaurant you will be met with a huge display of different desserts that you can have at the cafe or get to go.

Lviv Handmade Chocolate (Lviv Chocolate Factory)

Lviv Chocolate Factory is a must visit place in Lviv. This is the place to see and try chocolate masterpieces. 

The Lviv Chocolate Factory (the original one) is located in the center of the old town and takes up a whole building. On the first floor behind the glass you can see chocolatiers creating amazing desserts. The second and third floors are a shop (an amazing place to get something for yourself and for your family). After that, all the way up to the roof is a cafe that serves melted chocolate, desserts, milk shakes, coffees, and teas.

Confectionery-pharmacy Ionic Under the Golden Star

Confectionery-pharmacy Ionic Under the Golden Star is located on a side street near Svobody square (5 minutes walk from Lviv Opera Theater).

You might wonder why this place has such a weird name for a dessert shop. This is because it used to be a pharmacy a very long time ago. This is also the spot where the gas lamp was invented. 

Confectionery-pharmacy Ionic Under the Golden Star is a very classy place with beautiful wooden furniture, red walls that create a special atmosphere, and most importantly a great selection of desserts. 

In the entrance hall, at the big counter with displayed desserts you can choose what you want and order it, then just choose the most comfortable and available table and enjoy your delicious dessert and great atmosphere. 

My Recommendation: Lemon Entremet / Chocolate Entremet

Cukiernia

Cukiernia is a cute cafe in the center of the city that offers well-known European desserts, and traditional Ukrainian desserts. 

Cukiernia, like many other places in Lviv, has an outside summer terrace and many seats inside. You can have a beverage to pair with your dessert, enjoy your time, and decide when you are coming back to Lviv.

My Recommendation: Kyiv Cake

Shokoladnyy Butik (Chocolate Boutique)

Shokoladnyy Butik is a fancy dessert place where you can get an amazing gift for someone dear to you, or something special for yourself.

Besides fancy looking chocolates, Shokoladnyy Butik has a variety of cakes and torts that you can try at the cafe or to get takeaway for later.

This is one of the newest dessert shops in Lviv, but it’s crowded every time I go, so I think it will be around a while.

My Recommendation: A Set Of Fancy Filled Chocolates
