Where To Eat In Ubud

Ubud is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bali for foreigners and Indonesian visitors alike. It is located in the center of the island and is filled with tons of great things to do. As everyone needs to eat, this list of where to eat in Ubud should be useful. I’ve given a selection of different cuisines and different price points in the hope there will be something for everyone.

Where To Eat In Ubud:

LOCAVORE

One of the most well known places in Ubud is Locavore. This place needs a reservation and preferably a couple weeks in advance. They have a tasting menu which is on par with what you’ll get from top chefs all over the world, but for a much more affordable price.

If you like well made, healthy food, the Locavore should definitely be a stop during your Bali trip.

KAGEMUSHA

This is not your typical Japanese sushi bar. In fact they don’t have sushi at all. What they do have is traditional home style Japanese food served in a beautiful garden setting.

Kagemusha

This place is extremely affordable so you can try lots of different dishes. We got some teppanyaki, Udon with Tempura, and a Katsu Curry. With two drinks and a bottle of hot sake our bill ended up around $26 for two.

ROOM4DESSERT

Where to eat: Room4dessert

Room4Dessert might be the trendiest place in Ubud at the moment and it’s all thanks to the appearance of owner and head chef Will Goldfarb’s appearance on Chef’s Table.

Room4dessert

They only do a tasting menu, so be sure to Make a reservation. Prices start at 740,000 IDR for the basic tasting menu without drinks. When we went there were 21 different courses.

LOVSTER

Lovster

This is an awesome “street-style” seafood joint that also has locations in Canggu and Seminyak. As you can tell my the name they specialize in lobster, but they have tons of other things.

Where to eat in Ubud: Lovster

We used the Grab app to order them Delivery (50¢ delivery fee woohoo) which was fantastic because we could eat by the pool at our villa. We ordered two BBQ fried chicken sandwiches, a shrimp roll, and two fried Soft Shell crabs in bao. All together it was $16 for an extremely filling lunch/dinner.

TACO CASA

Taco casa

If you’re looking to get your Mexican fix then look no further. Taco Casa is located right in the center of Ubud and had great Cali-style and Tex Mex food.

Not to mention the strong cold drinks that are perfect on a hot day. This place is a little more expensive that others, especially if you’re going to drink, but the food is good so we felt it was worth it.

SAYAN NIGHT MARKET

Sayan njight market

If you want authentic Indonesian food for extremely cheap then look no further. This place is the spot to get your fix of Sate, Babi Guling, Gado-Gado,

Smoothie

Of course you’ll have to pair your food with a delicious fresh fruit smoothie. I got a sugar free blended avocado smoothie, and Cody got a chocolate pineapple shake. There isn’t a lot of English at the night market, so you’re in for a truly local experience.

SAGE

Where to eat in Ubud

Sage is a great fully vegan restaurant with quite the bohemian atmosphere. If you miss the sign, you’ll recognize it by everyone’s flip-flops spread out before the front door.

Where to eat in Ubud: Sage

This is a place where you can bring your computer and get some work done, or just have long lunches with friends. I got the tempeh tacos and Cody got a jackfruit asada burrito. With a long black coffee and a watermelon juice our total ended up around $16
