Where To Eat In La Quinta, California

La Quinta is one of the nine cities in the Coachella Valley. So you can imagine that this city as well as the other nine get a lot of tourists during the Coachella music festival. For those who decide to spend some time here I made a list of places to eat in La Quinta, California.

Louise’s Pantry

Louise’s Pantry is a restaurant that for a long time was actually located in Palm Springs before it moved to La Quinta.

Louise’s Pantry is a great breakfast diner that you can visit while staying in La Quinta.

As in other American breakfast diners, the portions are huge here (even if I get a short stack of pancakes, I can’t finish it), and the food is delicious. One of the best options they have on the menu is the chicken fried steak that is served with hash browns, three eggs (cooked to your liking), and toast with amazing jam.

Louise’s Pantry is quite a popular place in La Quinta and more often than not it is a full house here.

As at most of the places, the service here is great. Food arrives very fast and waiters are super friendly.

La Quinta Cliffhouse

The Cliffhouse is an upscale restaurant that is great for special occasions or date nights.

The Cliffhouse restaurant is actually built into a hill from which it takes its name and its unique design.

The restaurant has inside sittings as well as outside. The open terrace looks quite amazing with many trees from one side and a rocky wall from the other. Due to this, the terrace has a specially romantic atmosphere.

La Quinta Cliffhouse

The service at the Cliffhouse deserves its own article. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, our food was served very fast, and any requests were met with a smile and got done right away.

The food at the Cliffhouse like everything else is great. Every dish is full of flavor, and the portions are huge.

Casa Mendoza

Casa Mendoza is a great restaurant in La Quinta that serves Mexican cuisine.

This actually was my first Mexican restaurant in the USA since after exploring Los Angeles I went right away to La Quinta.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere of fun and excitement. Colorful walls and tables bring out the vibe of real Mexico, carnivals and parties.

Casa Mendoza has a great menu with a wide selection of dishes. You really can order anything here, the food is very good. If you are into margaritas, Casa Mendoza has a few special ones (like jalapeno, or cucumber) that are just delicious.

RD RNNR Cafe

RD RNNR Cafe is yet another place for a great date. This restaurant specializes in wines and has a pretty good wine list. However you can’t call the RD RNNR Cafe an upscale place, it is more of a casual restaurant where you will definitely feel comfortable.

RD RNNR Cafe

The food at the RD RNNR Cafe is quite good. I really enjoyed a baby beetroot salad. I know that not a lot of people are fans of beetroots, but being from Ukraine it is one of the primary vegetables in my diet. So I was very happy to see this option on the menu.

Los Arcos

Los Arocs is another restaurant that serves Mexican food. The reason I put Los Arocs and Casa Mendoza on the same list is that the experience you’ll get at these places is completely different.

Los Arocs is more a diner than an actual fancy restaurant. At Los Arocs you don’t feel like eating Mexican food is  an event, you just enjoy good food on a random day. Los Arocs actually reminded me of those small Greek taverns that are owned by a family.

The food at Los Arcos is really good and the prices are lower than at the Casa Mendoza. It was four of us at Los Arocs, we all ordered different dishes, and all of us really liked them.

Our waiter was really good and all the dishes we ordered arrived in no time. I actually was surprised how fast everything was brought.

My Thai

My Thai is a restaurant that serves Thai cuisine and does it well. The restaurant has a wide selection of dishes and drinks.

My Thai restaurant is a large restaurant that gets very crowded around dinner time, so you might want to come a little bit earlier to get a good seat.

One of my favorite dishes at My Thai restaurant in La Quinta is Pad Thai, but we really liked everything we tried here.

Palm Tree Palace (Chinese Cuisine)

Palm Tree Palace is a place to get Chinese cuisine in La Quinta. The restaurant might not look like much for those who are passing by, but it is actually a great spot.

Palm Tree Palace (Chinese Cuisine)

Palm Tree Palace has a very big selection of Chinese food from different regions in China, including dim sum from Hong Kong. This is actually how I learned about the Palm Tree Palace, by looking for a place that has decent dim sum.

Everything we tried at the Palm Tree Palace tasted very good and authentic. That being said, we did stay away from the typical ‘Americanized Chinese’ dishes. The food is always served very fast here and the prices are decent.

Broken Yolk Cafe

Broken Yolk Cafe is another great breakfast/lunch restaurant in La Quinta.

The cafe is quite big and always crowded, which is a good sign of course. In fact it reminded me a lot of Pancake House in Redondo Beach!

The menu at the Broken Yolk cafe has many savory and sweet options, so you definitely will find something to your liking. My favorite breakfast here is the lemon ricotta pancakes, which I highly recommend.

LG’s Prime Steakhouse

After two months in La Quinta, we decided to make LG’s Prime Steakhouse our last meal. This is a gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service. However do note that this is definitely a $$$$ type place.

LG’s Prime Steakhouse

We sat at a comfortable leather booth and it is quite a romantic place with low lighting. I have to say it has been a long time since I’ve been to a place this fancy.

For food I ate the ‘Jewel In The Crown’ a dry aged Porterhouse steak (cooked blue just like I like it). I also had their delicious caesar salad and some sides like sweet corn, mashed potatoes, and onion rings.
