Granada is one of my favorite Andalusian cities in Spain. It is a beautiful place that offers amazing architecture, long and interesting history, rich culture, and delicious food (tapas). During our last trip to Granada we stayed at Marquis Urban hotel. Here is an honest review of this hotel with all the pros and cons that you should know about.
Marquis Urban hotel is located basically in the center of the city. It is quite easy to get to any place you need from Marquis Urban hotel in no time.
If you are planning on bar hopping to try famous Granada tapas, the Marquis Urban hotel would be a good place to stay, since many of the best tapas bars are located nearby.
Marquis Urban has two main public areas: the restaurant area on the first floor (near the reception), and a cute open terrace on the roof.
I don’t think that many people actually use the restaurant area (it is a little bit gloomy), but the rooftop terrace looks very charming and has a great view.
Service at the Marquis Urban hotel was good. We were greeted and checked in very fast. The staff always seemed friendly, and quite helpful.
The room at the Marquis Urban hotel was quite big and spacious. There was a comfortable queen bed, a wardrobe, a long desk, mini fridge, and a flat screen TV. On each side of the bed there were plugs, and side tables.
Overall the room was to our satisfaction, except one thing – the window. In our room we had a big window that faced the inside courtyard with the glass elevator. So every time someone was in the corridor, or in the elevator they could see inside the room. Therefore we had two options: to close the blinds and restrict sunlight, or to keep the blinds open and lack privacy.
The bathroom at the Marquis Urban hotel was decent with plenty of space. We had a bathtub with good water pressure, and there is actually not a thing that I can complain about.
I read that some people had minor problems with their bathrooms, but during our stay at the Marquis Urban we had no problem with the bathroom.
Overall I highly recommend the Marquis Urban hotel for those who are looking for something simple, not overpriced, and in a good location. It won’t be the hotel of your dreams, but I am sure you will be comfortable, and you definitely will appreciate its location.
