Rzeźnia restaurant offer a great selection of meat choices, but their specialty are of course the ribs. Together with ribs you can try some traditional Polish sides like homemade coleslaw, pickled tomatoes or cucumbers, and their special amazingly delicious salt baked potatoes. 

By the way, the word “rzeźnia” literally means a slaughterhouse.

Okrąglak – for Zapiekanki

Okrąglak is one of those amazing street food places that become not just a good place to eat at, but a must do thing in the city. 

Okrąglak is a round structure that has many built-in stalls that offer mostly one thing with many different flavors – zapiekanki. 

A zapiekanka is a half baguette with various toppings. Every stall seems to have their own special offerings. 

First of all, zapiekanki is a super delicious dish. Of course, you choose the toppings to your liking, but the bread is always the same. And bread is a state of art here. Crispy on the outside, soft inside, hot and super fresh, this bread will definitely make you come back. 

Second of all, a zapiekanka is a very cheap meal (and it is definitely a proper meal, since afterward you are not going to be hungry for at least half the day). Expect to pay around 12 – 18 Zloty per zapiekanka depending on the topping you choose. 

Remember that zapiekanka is a street food, so don’t expect fine dining, or lots of sitting spaces in general (there will be just a few tables, most people eat while standing).

Mirror Bistro – Pierogi Bystro

One of the most famous Polish traditional dishes is pierogi, therefore you cannot come to Krakow and skip it. 

In the Kazimierz district there is a great place that offers many choices of traditional Polish pierogi for very affordable prices – Mirror Bistro.

Mirror Bistro is a small cute restaurant that offers delicious dumplings filled with various toppings, including sweet ones like cherries, and other fruits. 

Besides a few tables inside, Mirror Bistro has an outside sitting that is mostly open in nice warm weather. 

I highly recommend getting your pierogi at Mirror Bistro, since the combination of the price and quality is the best in the whole area.

Restauracja Wręga is another great restaurant that serves traditional Polish food and has a great atmosphere. 

Restauracja Wręga has inside and outside sittings. And if the weather is warm enough I strongly recommend you to choose an outside table among lots of beautiful greenery on the cute summer terrace. 

Everything at this place is good: the service is fast, waiters are friendly, food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Restauracja Wręga is one of the places in Krakow where you can have a great meal with your friends.

Kuchnia u Doroty

Kuchnia u Doroty is a rustic restaurant that offers old-school cooking and reminds of a grandma’s kitchen. It is another great restaurant with delicious food and cheap prices in the Kazimierz district. 

Kuchnia u Doroty offers all the traditional dishes like Polish barcz (which is nothing like Ukrainian borsch), pierogi, kielbasa (especially good in this restaurant), bigos, and other stuff.

Alchemia (od Kuchni) is a very trendy restaurant/bar in Kazimierz district in Krakow. They serve modern European food with a touch of Polish traditions. 

Alchemia is not just a great restaurant, but a very popular bar. There are two entrances to the Alchemia. One will take you to a bar area with dim light and a great atmosphere. The other door leads to a proper restaurant.
