Hotel Review: Villa Adiela, Jardín, Colombia

Jardin is a cute village (puebla) that is located 4 hours drive away from Medellin. It is one of the spots to visit if you want to experience a real Colombian vibe and enjoy magnificent Colombian nature. Jardin offers many things to do, and many places to stay. You can choose to stay in the center of the village and be close to all the restaurants and bars. Or you can choose to stay on the outskirts of the village and enjoy tranquility and amazing views. If the second option is closer to your heart, you can read my review of the hotel Villa Adiela, which is located just 10 minutes away from Jardin and carries a vibe of relaxation.

Location

As I already have mentioned, the hotel Villa Adiela is located 10 minutes drive from the center of Jardin town. But the most important thing to know is that Villa Adiela is located on a hill overlooking the main road and nearby mountains. The view that opens up here is the highlight of this hotel.

To get to the hotel from the center of the village you can do so by taking a tuktuk. The rate is flat – 8 000 COP. At the villa you will find all the information to order a tuktuk via phone if needed.

If you are planning on walking around it takes just 3 minutes to walk down the hill to the main road, which is very convenient to be picked up by excursion companies (especially if you are planning to visit the cave of Splendor).

Public Area

The public area is another highlight of this hotel. The hotel has a long wide terrace with a lot of sitting space that wraps around all the rooms. It is connected with an open kitchen and hot tub area.

The setting is magnificent: next to the hot tub are a few swings, a hammock, a net, and a few comfortable chairs. Add to all of this a fantastic view and you will get a place of your dreams.

The hot tub is on everyday from 5 PM to 10 PM, so you can just relax there after a day full of exploring Jardin or other sights.

In the kitchen you will find a wine fridge that is full of reasonably priced choices. Cold Lambrusco and a hot tub, doesn’t it sound amazing?

Service

The host at the hotel Villa Adiela was very friendly. Her English is good enough to communicate, and she is always happy to help you with anything you need. All the information we needed we got from her, so don’t be shy to ask. She actually recommended a good delivery place with very good pizza.

Kitchen

Every morning she would come to the hotel to cook us breakfast, which was included in the price of the stay. The rest of the time we were mostly on our own (at the time of our stay there weren’t any other guests), which felt like we rented the whole place to ourselves.

Breakfast

The one thing that I have to mention is that during our three nights stay at villa Adiela we didn’t receive cleaning service in our room.

Internet

The Internet at the hotel is pretty decent. You get a good signal in the room and on the terrace. Out of three days there was only one time the connection was weak, other than that it worked just fine.

The Room

The room at the hotel Villa Adiela was very simple with a big soft bed and a small table and a flat screen TV on the wall. There wasn’t anything else in it.

Bedroom

There were also a few minuses to this room which are probably very easy to fix. First of all, there weren’t any plugs next to the bed. In fact all the plugs were very high up on the wall, which was really inconvenient to charge stuff. In the room there is one window, but it is installed in a way that between the window and the wall there are holes, so mosquitoes can get in, and they do get in.

Bathroom

Our bathroom was quite big and cute looking, but unfortunately not completely sealed, so the mosquitoes were coming through it as well. Also the shower was quite bad. It is supposed to be an eco-shower, which in real life means no water pressure, just a small drip.

Bathroom

The hotel provides their guests with shampoos, and two types of towels (bathroom towel and hot tub towel).

Breakfast

Breakfast at villa Adiela is very nice. Every day we received fruits, eggs with sausages or bacon; different types of bread including croissants, salty cheese, cream cheese, and jam. For drinks there was juice, coffee and very delicious hot chocolate. With so much good food I tended to stuff myself and usually wasn’t hungry until dinner time.

Conclusion

Although the room at the hotel villa Adiela needs some improvements, the whole experience at this place was fantastic. The property is very beautiful, and most of the time is spent outside anyway.

Villa Adiela has a very romantic set up and it is truly a perfect place for decompression, relaxation, and tranquility. This is the place to escape the world and heal your soul.
