Banos de la Encina is a small town that few tourists have heard about. It is located to the north of Granada in the Jaen region. All around this town you will see a green sea of olive trees. First of all you need to know that there is no direct train or bus that goes to Banos de la Encina from Granda, so you will need to do a transfer somewhere. The easiest route from Granada to Banos de la Encina is through Jaen city.
Jaen is the center of the olive oil producing region and quite a big city. There is also quite a lot to do around this city for tourists, so spending a day in Jaen is actually a great idea.
Since Jaen is a big city, it is no wonder that they have a big bus station here. From Granada to Jaen there are around 12 buses a day. They start at 7am and run until 9:45pm.
The bus ticket from Granada to Jaen will cost you around $10 per person. The ride won’t take a long time, just an hour and you are in the city center.
You can buy your bus tickets at the Alsa app or at the train station.
Note: To get to Granada bus station you can do so by taking a taxi (around $10 – $15), or by jumping on bus #33 that goes directly to the Bus Station from the old town. The bus ride is €1.40 per person and you can pay directly on the bus.
From Jaen (the same bus station where you arrive from Granada) to Banos de la Encina there is just one bus per day, at 12:55 PM. The bus company is called SAMAR (before organizing your schedule, check their website and available buses).
You can buy your bus ticket directly at the bus station, since it is not possible to buy the tickets online.
The ticket from Jaen to Banos de la Encina will cost you €4.40 per person. It takes around 40 minutes to get to Banos de la Encina by this bus (it has quite a lot of stops on its way).
