While heading from Oslo to Frankfurt on Lufthansa recently, I was able to have breakfast at the 2017 built SAS domestic lounge Gardermoen. Normally I don’t think much of reviewing lounges during breakfast since the food offerings are so limited, but with this lounge I was pleasantly surprised. There were of course the basic cold options like cereal and cheeses, but also some nice treats like freshly baked bread with whipped butter or liver pate.
The SAS Domestic Lounge in Oslo’s Gardermoen airport is located airside in the domestic transit hall. There is plenty of signage showing you how to get there after security control so you should have no trouble finding your way.
Upon entering just show your business class ticket or your Star Alliance Gold card and you will be let right inside.
The SAS Domestic Lounge in Oslo Gardermoen Airport is accessible by those flying business or first class on SAS or any other Star Alliance Flight, or those who have Star Gold status with another partner airline.
There are also other ways to enter due to credit card agreements, but that seems to be on a case by case basis.
This lounge is quite large and has plenty of seating. There are also some stuff I haven’t seen in other lounges before like a gym with showers! As far as comfort goes, I will say the seats aren’t super comfortable, but they are perfectly satisfactory.
There is bench and large table seating directly across the buffet style food area, and past that much open seating with chairs, couches, and benches.
There is also a cute cafe right at the very beginning, but as I was traveling during COVID it was closed.
I can’t really give an accurate review of the food as I was only here for breakfast. Personally I had some muesli and some bread with pate. I’ll be sure to amend this section next time I fly out later in the day.
There were also beer and wine taps I noticed, but I stuck with a coffee and some orange juice.
This was a perfectly acceptable lounge in my opinion, and I could have even spent more time here without feeling sick of it. The food selection was tasty (albeit limited due to breakfast) and if I had a very long layover I would absolutely take advantage of the gym and showers.
